چکیده
Study of thermo-hydraulic characteristics a novel microchannel heat sink having flow disrupting pins is numerically and experimentally carried out in this paper. Cylindrical are inserted from top cover into the rectangular instead conventional technique pin-fins originating base microchannel. Initially, effect pin diameter on performance studied optimum established, later enhanced (PE-MCHS) compared with (MCHS). Of five diameters studied, 0.2mm (relative γ=0.4) gives best performance. Both MCHS PE-MCHS subjected to flux ranging 65W/cm2 200 W/cm2 cooled by water flowing at Reynolds number 745 1500. The presence disturbs velocity distribution completely increases transfer capacity accompanied higher pressure drop penalty. average enhancement factor obtained 1.24. Correlations showing channel width ratio (Wc/ Dp) Nusselt (Nu)and friction (f) proposed.

Analysis of flexible microchannel heat sink systems
In this work, single layered (SL) and double layered (DL) flexible microchannel heat sinks are analyzed. The deformation of the supporting seals is related to the average internal pressure by theory of elasticity. It is found that sufficient cooling can be achieved using SL flexible microchannel heat sinks at lower pressure drop values for softer seals. Double layered flexible microchannel heat...

A full 3-dimensional (3D) conjugate heat transfer model has been developed to simulate the heat transfer performance of siliconbased, parallel microchannel heat sinks. A semi-normalized 3-dimensional heat transfer model has been developed, validated and used to optimize the geometric structure of these types of microheat sinks. Under a constant pumping power of 0.05 W for a water-cooled microhe...

Subcooled flow boiling in multi-microchannels can be used as an efficient thermal management approach in compact electrical devices. Highly subcooled flow boiling of HFE 7100 is studied in two microchannel heat sinks to choose a proper numerical model for simulating boiling flows in microchannels. Results of five different numerical models, including Volume of Fluid (VOF), Eulerian boiling, Eul...

متن کاملExperimental study of convective heat transfer coefficient of MgO nanofluid in a cylindrical microchannel heat sink
Convective heat transfer of MgO-water nanofluid in a microchannel heat sink is experimentally investigated in various concentrations of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.6 wt%. The microchannel consisted of 48 parallel rectangular cross section channels with the height of 800 µm, width of 524 µm and length of 52 mm. A well stability duration (ca. 1 month) was resulted by a 180 min ultra-sonication of the ...
